Knowledge Edge team

The Knowledge Edge team was established in 2011. We have expertise in gathering information, managing it, and transforming it into useful insights in sporting contexts. The team is made up of:

• Tina Ryan (Team Lead);
• Caitlin Blakely (Senior Insights Researcher).

Our work

The Knowledge Edge team maintains a record of pinnacle event learning across NZ sports and over time. We gather insights from athletes, coaches, support staff, and performance programme leaders to explore and understand the key aspects of preparation that underpin successful pinnacle event performances.

Our process is informed by the standard research process, which includes;

• Co-designing learning programmes;
• Gathering data (via interviews or surveys);
• Storing and cleaning data;
• Data analysis, and
• Communicating insights to others.
